*Installed price after the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) rebate, when we remove an existing gas ducted heater. Single storey; add $500 for double storey. Prices as at 25 October 2026, offers end 15 November 2026, and every price is confirmed at a free in-home design.
What every package includes
- An inverter reverse-cycle ducted system for heating and cooling
- AirTouch 5 smart zoning, with a wall console and phone app
- Temperature-controlled zones, each with its own temperature sensor, so each area holds its own set temperature rather than simply opening or closing
- Outlets with insulated flexible ductwork
- Removal of your old gas ducted heater
- A free in-home design, so the system is sized to your home before you commit
- Installation by our own licensed plumbers and electricians
When these prices apply
- You are replacing a gas ducted heater. That is what qualifies the job for the Victorian Energy Upgrades rebate, which is already taken off the prices above. Homes without gas ducted heating get a fixed quote at the in-home design.
- Single-storey homes. Double-storey homes are $500 extra, because ducts have to reach both levels.
- Confirmed at a free in-home design. We measure up, check the roof space and power, and give you a fixed price before anything is booked. Anything beyond the standard package, such as more zones or outlets, is quoted then.
Why ducted prices vary so much between installers
Advertised ducted prices in Melbourne range widely, and the headline number rarely tells you what you are getting. When you compare quotes, these are the items that most often explain the difference:
- Zoning. Some prices include zones and a zone controller; others charge for each zone separately or include a basic on/off controller only.
- Temperature sensors. On/off zones open and close dampers. Temperature-controlled zones have a sensor in each zone so each room holds its own temperature. They are not the same thing.
- Outlets and ductwork. Check how many outlets are included and whether new insulated ductwork is part of the price.
- Gas heater removal. Removing and making safe the old heater should be listed.
- "From" prices. A "from" price is usually the smallest system in a range, in a single-storey home, with the fewest zones.
Our guide to comparing ducted air conditioning quotes has a full checklist you can take to every installer.
Which size do I need?
As a rough guide, 10 to 12.5kW suits smaller homes of 2 to 3 bedrooms, 14kW suits 3 to 4 bedrooms, and 16 to 20kW suits larger homes or homes with more than one living area. Insulation, ceiling height, window area and orientation all change the answer, so we confirm the size at the in-home design. You can also use our 4-tap size check to see which package is closest.
Common questions
